Bonnie Belt
Clay Artist

Bonnie Belt creates dramatic tree sculptures from white stoneware. Each piece has realistic branches sculpted from clay and attached to her hand-thrown vessel, bowl, and ginger jar shapes.

The unique cloud like surface images are achieved by firing an air brushed lowfire underglaze on the sculpture, then finally smoke firing each piece in local redwood needles.

Working in clay has been Bonnie's passion for over 20 years. Her forms have evolved since moving to Northern California seven years ago, and her inspiration comes from trees that manage to survive the rugged California coast and sierra mountains. Bonnie has incorporated her southwest desert background with her current lush forest surroundings to create her dramatic one-of-a-kind tree sculptures.

Bonnie's work can be seen at galleries and craft/art fairs throughout California. Her tree sculptures have been purchased and shipped to locations all over the United States.

For more information, gallery locations and upcoming shows, or to be put on her mailing list you can contact her at her studio by phone, fax or email.
